About Me
My name is Kayla Fiore (she/her), and I was born and raised in the great state of New Jersey. I am currently a third year Theatre Studies major with a minor in Advertising, Public Relations, and Marketing Communications at Ithaca College (IC), where I am classified as a senior based on my credits. My primary focus is directing, and I am passionate about creating meaningful, collaborative theatrical experiences that bring people together.
Outside of the classroom, I am proud to be an IC Leadership Scholar and currently serve as Vice President and vocalist for IC Premium Blend, Ithaca College’s only all female aligned a cappella group. Previously, I served as the group’s Communications Director. I also serve as an Admissions Co Chair with the IC Office of Admission and as a Peer Leader in the Ithaca Seminar Peer Leader Program. Through these leadership experiences, I have strengthened my communication, collaboration, and organizational skills while finding meaningful ways to contribute to the Ithaca College community and create opportunities for those around me.
As an IC Leadership Scholar, I am committed to continually growing as a leader, expanding my impact, and using my experiences to create opportunities for others. I strive to bring that same sense of purpose, collaboration, and creativity into every aspect of my life, particularly through my passion for theatre.
Theatre is my heartbeat, and directing is where my true passion lies. Having worked on more than 25 productions, I have developed a deep enthusiasm for bringing stories to life on stage. As a director, my goal is to create performances that captivate audiences while offering fresh, thought provoking interpretations of the source material. When I approach a script, I strive to make it my own by developing unique concepts, exploring meaningful themes, and crafting dynamic staging that enhances the emotional impact of the story. I am especially drawn to musical theatre because it brings together collaboration, music, movement, and storytelling to create an exhilarating and deeply human creative experience.
My passion for theatre and directing extends beyond the rehearsal room. I love experiencing stories from the audience’s perspective as well, and in my free time, I enjoy going to the movies and seeing Broadway shows. Whether I am directing a production, performing with my a cappella group, leading my peers, or sitting in the audience, I am constantly inspired by the power of storytelling and the people who bring those stories to life.
